Wild Winds Whip Illawarra

I woke this morning to news that the storm which hit Sydney overnight had caused devastation to Kiami, a suburb of the Illawarra region 2 hours drive south of Sydney. I instantly jumped in the car and made my way south.

The first thing I saw on the way in to town was the fire station which had been literally torn in half by the wild storm. Many houses had severe damage to their roofs whilst a handful of houses where missing roofs or entire levels.

From all reports I heard of the ferocity of the storm it is amazing that no one was killed or critically injured!
